CLASS ON DEMAND: Mezen Painted Heart
Paint a small heart shape with a Russian Mezen design. The design has a traditional horse, but in keeping with Valentine’s Day there is a heart on the horse’s rump.
You can choose to purchase the heart with or without a hanging hole. If you purchase a “flying heart” (that is what the shape is called) without a hanging hole, you can glue a pin on the back and wear it or gift it!
WOODEN ITEM: Purchase on Etsy from the seller craftcutconcepts, Flying Heart: 1/8” thick, 3” long, with or without a hanging hole, item number SO-0003-04.
BACKGROUND COLOR: I used JoSonja Linen, but you can use any white or off white color you may have on hand.
GLAZING COLOR: Raw Sienna
PAINTING COLORS: (I will be demonstrating in acrylics, but you can choose to paint in oils.) BLACK, BURNT SIENNA, NAPTHOL RED LIGHT
BRUSH: (You just need one!) #1 liner or a liner of your choice
OTHER MATERIALS: paper towels, transfer material, water or painting medium of your choice
