CLASS ON DEMAND: 8 inch Nordfjord Round Design
The Nordfjord style of rosemaling is a style that stayed regional to the Nordfjord area of the west coast of Norway. These designs were traditionally painted on ale bowls that were also made by local farmers in the area. The designs of this style have geometric shapes and stylized tulips and scrolls. This is a style that has stayed true to its roots; it hasn’t been influenced by outside painters. The design for this class is typical of what was painted in the 1800’s. The class will be taught using oil paints, but students well versed in the use of acrylics may use them.
