CLASS ON DEMAND: OSTOBER Annanias Tveit Inspired Os
After a deep dive into the painting of Os painter, Annanias Tveit, (1847-1924), Patti Goke, VGM has come up with a project based on the colors and motifs of Tveit as her contribution to Ostober 2024.
A little bit about Tveit and his legacy. He apprenticed with his father, Nils Midthus. Annanias mostly painted for farmers in the area and, when he was 25 years old, he purchased a neighboring farm, Tveit, establishing his workshop there. He is the foremost representative of the pure Os style. He had many apprentices and, for many years, ran a rose painting school from his workshop. Annanias's nephew, Per Rød, helped to carry on the tradition and passed it on to his son, Annanias Rød, who in turn passed it on to his daughter, Torunn Rød Farsund.
WOOD PIECE: This project will be painted on a mid-sized trunk made by Mike Lusk. Please order the piece as soon as possible and tell Mike this is for a Nordic Canvas class. You can contact Mike at (608) 452-3472 and tell him are ordering “Number 303 with a round top”.
Experience Level: This class is appropriate for intermediate and advanced painters. However, if a beginner, with some painting experience, want to take this class, please feel free to register. Because each class is recorded, and each participant will have long-term access to the recordings, beginners can watch and rewatch the class videos to enrich your learning.

Mars Black (acrylic - Jo Sonja Carbon Black)
Prussian Blue (acrylic - Jo Sonja Prussian Blue)
Yellow Ochre (acrylic Jo Sonja Yellow Oxide or Golden brand of Yellow Ochre)
Titanium White (acrylic Jo Sonja Titanium White)

There will be some prep work prior to the class. You will receive directions after you have registered for the class.
